You know those mornings when you’d love to have a great big breakfast?  You don’t have time.  

You don’t want to spend a lot.  

And you don’t need to add hundreds of calories to your day?

 Well, when I saw another fabulous video from Fully Raw Kristina I knew this idea would rock my breakfast world.

As far from Captain Crunch as you could be……

Raw Fruit Cereal with Fresh Banana Milk
Take summer fresh fruits to a new level with a raw fruit cereal soaked in fresh banana milk. Quick, easy and so so delicious.
  1. 3 ripe bananas (2 for milk and 1 for cereal topping)
  2. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  3. 2 - 3 pitted, chopped dates
  4. blueberries
  5. strawberries
  6. grapes
  7. raisins
  8. raspberries
  9. 3 cups of filtered water
  10. 1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds or other nut of choice
  11. Dried fruit of choice
For the banana milk
  1. Blend together 2 ripe bananas, vanilla and dates with 3 - 4 cups of filtered water.
  2. Serve over fresh fruits and nuts. Too many optional add-in's to list. Make it your own.
  1. The Banana Milk should be made fresh for this cereal. It's delicious, but does separate fairly quickly when stored in the fridge. For extra sweeter in the milk, use coconut water in place of filtered, or add in additional sweetener of choice. I found with the sourness of some of the berries in the cereal base, the milk was just perfectly sweetened with ripe banana and a little vanilla extract.

    Yes to these three questions – and yes on this tasty cereal! I am addicted to frozen banana-based smoothies and mylk and I love the idea – banana mylk for cereals, I must make this soon! What a nourishing meal for breakfast, thank you Angela for sharing this yummy bowl!

    Yum YUM…fresh banana milk eh? I would be tempted just to blend the lot and quaff but sometimes fruit with texture is good…with banana milk…is VERY good 🙂

      No doubt it would all be good blended up but as you say, sometimes you gotta have some bite to your meals. I think this banana milk would work well as the liquid in baked goods also instead of plain milk and you’d be able to dial down the other added sugars. Not overly sweet though. The vanilla gives it more flavor I think than the actual bananas.

        A great idea (again) and I am working on different milks as well. Found an interesting white bean one that might work, just got to find 10 minutes to experiment 😉

            Yeah, wouldn’t want to make bean milk raw…BUT in saying that…I did harvest a lot of “dried” beans that I could have processed raw (scarlet runners) as an experiment so maybe next year…for now, it’s white bean milk to see how it goes :). That walnut milk sounds heavenly. I scoffed all of the walnuts that we got from our tree straight from the shell and they were sweet and milky, would have made a wonderful milk. I will try making some next year 🙂
