Vegan Peanut Butter Caramel Sauce & Salted Caramel Apples - from Canned-Time

 I saw this wonderful caramel and thought it could become a proper coating for some big ripe red apples.  To fancy them up just a bit, I sprinkled each apple with some coarse sea salt while the caramel was still warm.  VERY nice.  The caramel sauce in itself will make a special gift.  Then bring along a basket of apples and make it a party!  The Vegan caramel wont take your teeth out and the salt, well it just makes thing a little refined, don’t you know.  A lot tasty.

      Thanks to you Cara for the inspiration. I’ve been drooling over your MoFo posts all month and finally gave in to the caramel.
      I used an all natural peanut butter that was quite dry and I think it kept the sauce from being more smooth in mine but the taste was righteous so I didn’t mind the look being a little off from yours 😉

        LOL! I wouldn’t get my images to press because I would have eaten all of the amazingly inventive delicious things that you share with us before I was able to take a photo and even if I managed to get the last slice, Earl would photobomb it and there would be a dog tongue taking a lick in my image 😉

          Dog tongue sounds like a very original photo trend…don’t sell yourself short on creativity 😉
          I usually eat some of whatever I’m photographing prior to the pics if possible so I’m not so yearning while I’m shooting but I have been known to take a bite out of a dish prematurely. Another tough job in the blogger world…
          It’s cool here now. Getting your summer veggies planted there, I’m sure?

    Salted peanut butter caramel apples sounds so superyumful! I always get caramel envy at this time of year when I see the giant piles of caramels at the grocery store. This is ever so much better though…thanks for sharing the recipe!
